The vineyard

Situated in the heart of the famous « Dentelles de Montmirail », the "Domaine Saint François Xavier" is rooted in the cultivation of the vines with an ancestral ideal of quality and authenticity. The family Gras runs its 24 ha with passion, using natural and organic cultivation techniques ‘controlled vine management ’.

The terroir composed of old stony red clay alluvium offers full bodied and great aromatic Gigondas wines. The Grenache Noir, keystone of Gigondas, is blended with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Our vines are about 40 years old and the yield is very low (36 hl/ha). Our winemaking process is traditional with long fermentation. The alchemy between this unique terroir, the subtle blend of these noble varietals and our constant care to vinify and mature our wines, offers you powerful wines with a rich bouquet of delicate aromas and a large capacity of ageing. Our wines are naturally clarified and a light sediment in the bottle is normal – handle with tenderness.
